Back when the oil money started flowing into Alaska and every state 
citizen came into a little money, an Aleut thought about how he could 
use the windfall to improve his life without changing it too much.

He came up with the idea of installing an electric heater in his kayak. 
It was just enough to keep his feet toasty warm.

But one day the heating element shorted out, the sparks flew, and his 
boat caught on fire. It burned to the waterline then sank, carrying him 
to the bottom.

It just goes to show you that you can have your kayak but you can't heat 
it too.
