[SOC] Another SOC moment

In a misguided flash of SOCly brilliance, I have managed to hose the BIOS on
my PC.  Attempting to update BIOS to accept larger hard drive, I applied the
prescribed update using AFLASH.  Next instruction was to do cold boot to
SETUP and revise CMOS.  Only it don't boot to nuthin.  Machine tries for
about a second and shuts off power.   This is one dead beast.

The good news is that then hard drive is okay and will eventually yield all
the stuff not backed up.  I'm now using laptop configured very differently.
In particular, Outlook is entirely different,  most of the email address
book and spam filter blacklist is not on the laptop, and logging software
is elsewhere.

But the flurry of SOCly postings has allowed me to restore some addresses.
