Hi Chris,
I no longer hold a grudge but I agree that it was probably American
intransigence (jealousy?) that stopped Concorde from being a proper
commercial success.
Initial options on some 200 airframes were dropped due mainly, I believe to
objections to her flying in American airspace.
Thirty odd years isn't bad for a type however.
I still remember the feeling of dismay when the jigs were ripped up at
Filton. This confirmed that no more were to be made.
In my humble, the two most beautiful aircraft ever constructed are Concorde
and the Avro Vulcan.
