[SOC] Californians asked for it

Not only does it appear that in other areas in the US people seem to think
Californians enjoy political circuses, many in other countries reportedly
think the California electorate is a pack of total lunatics.
So, what have we done? Are Californians really stupid enough to have voted
into the Governor's office some body-building movie actor?
Or is he really a magnetic speaker ("inarticulate"? hardly) with an earned
business degree (and an honorary doctorate) from the University of
Winsconsin, a businessman who personally manages extensive holdings, a
public-spirited giver of plenty of his own time and money to support youth
athletics (especially among the disadvantaged and disabled), a devoted
family man, a long-time personal friend of former US President Sir George
Bush (having been a member of Bush's Council on Physical Fitness), who had
several members of the late President Kennedy's family (staunch supporters
of the opposition political party, y'know) enjoying their places on stage
when he offered his acceptance speech? And, by the way, a man who has a
track record of establishing top-level personal goals (world's best
bodybuilder, then biggest box-office draw in Hollywood, now Governor of
California) and achieving them?
Wow, same guy.
Hey, I live here, and I'm not complaining.
