No, they withdrew their resolution because they couldn't get a majority [forget
veto] which everyone would consider a moral right.

That's been thrashed to death in our parliament because our "opposition" party
said they'd ignore any veto and consider a majority vote as a valid UN
resolution.

Notwithstanding bribes, threats they still couldn't get a majority.

As I said, very hotly debated here.
