A gin pole is a 10-12 ft pole that attaches to the side of a tower section,
a rope is passed through it and around a pulley on top and back down to
ground level, where a new tower section is attached and then pulled up. it
sure beats manhandling a section on tower especially in the wind. a better
name might be hoist pole
