[SOC] Melancholy Me

What I can't understand is this notion that we are going to carpet-bomb
Baghdad in WW2-style 1000 bomber raids.
The Royal Air Force are quite capable of putting a Stormshadow missile
through Saddam Hussein's bedroom window from 180 miles away.
If there are large-scale civilian casualties, then I will be as horrified as
you, but I think (and sincerely hope) that the only civilians killed in
large numbers will be killed by Saddam's henchmen themselves. He's done it
before, and if we leave him in power he will do it again.
Is 'Pax Americana' such an evil thing?. It didn't seem to do West Germany
(or Britain for that matter) much harm. I know we are unlikely to create a
new 'Camelot' in the middle east, but the Iraqis are among the most
'western' of arabs (or at least the ones I have met are), and should embrace
democracy well. Hopefully being a model for other states in the region whom
we have not mentioned yet.

Anyhow, if my 'mole' is correct, we will find out soon...very soon, by which
I mean hours - not days.

>>>"You reckon US bombers should come over 31 Mardi Street, Girraween and
drop
1,000 lb bombs on it while Joshua is asleep next week?

You can imagine the reaction...

I said: "So don't f***in shame me by saying Iraqi children should have their
sleep disturbed.<<<
