Paul,

As a Foundation License tutor, I am pretty sure that you can use any
homebrew equipment that you want apart from transmitters!

The Intermediate course looks to be an interesting challenge to teach, our
group is currently working on the syllabus and waiting for the RSGB to set
the final rules for the examination centres!
