While I think it would be fantastic for the US to embrace more
"international" sports, I doubt that cricket will catch on over here to the
extent that the US would become "competitive" in the international area.
While I am not a big sports fan anyway, I think that cricket is too
"complex" a sport for mass acceptance over here <grin>. I remember watching
Sunday afternoon tests in the local village near our airbase, and it seemed
to be more of a social event than a sporting event. Never was able to
comprehend the rules to the point I could appreciate what was going on. Of
course the Brits probably felt the same way when they came and watched a
baseball game at the base!
At least the US is finally getting serious towards soccer (football to
our mates) so when we finally win the World Cup, maybe then we can try out
cricket!
