[SOC] Why there are so few of us

LOL I like it! We should start a campaign to get people to sign-up as you
did.

Yes, it's a bit sad. I took two of my daughters and their three children
(ages 1, 3, and 3) to a concert the other night. It was a guy who tells
stories and sings songs mostly aimed at kids, but enjoyable by adults as
well. It was something to see the lack of ability to sit there and listen to
someone tell a story. The lessens with age I guess (lol) because seemed like
the older people had no problem sitting there and enjoying it. As you got
younger and younger they were looking around, talking, etc. My grandchildren
were following their lead until we took them up front so they could focus on
the singer, dance, and enjoy the show. Now I'm not *THAT* old mind you, just
46. But I can see that each recent generation has gotten more and more
addicted to "immediate stimulation."

Kids today do not CARE what's in the box. No actually it's beyond that...
they feel it's a burden to know what's going on. They would RATHER be in the
dark, and take comfort from that. I've always been inquisitive... it was a
MAJOR problem when I was younger, I was known as a kid that could/would take
anything apart to see how it worked. I was not so skilled at re-assembly
though. The good news is that my Dad got really good at that!
