Europe is roasting, Asia is turning out salable products by the billions,
Most North Americans who bother to care are wondering how a really
effective electric power grid can be structured, and here in California I
can hardly stop laughing. Really, it costs no more than shedding tears and
is more rewarding. =20

I'm also idly wondering how much longer I can tolerate this physically
beautiful, utterly unmanaged political jurisdiction. Living in California
right now is almost like being married to the most gorgeous and loving
woman imaginable. Unfortunately, she is a controlling bitch who spends
money faster than you can make it. Maybe I see divorce in the near future.
At least our wizards in the state legislature haven't devised a plan to
apportion the state debt among all residents, so those who bail out of the
state would still be responsible for their share. But perhaps our
politicians just haven't thought of that yet. It's no more bizarre than
some of the other absurdities they've come up with in recent years.

I do not worry about the latest worms. I am too cheap to have Windows XP,
and nobody wants to embarrass himself by bothering to write a virus to
attack Win 98 any more. And here in northern Los Angeles county, on the
edge of the Mojave Desert, it hasn't even reached 40=B0C for days.

Well, Ian, time for you to enjoy that nice cool weather. Get a piece of
very good bread, spread it rather generously with butter, add just a wee
bit of Vegemite for flavour, grab a nice cold beer, put on a hat, and relax
in your backyard enjoying y'rself. In fact, that sounds so good I may just
go buy a jar of Vegemite so I can do that myself later today. If it's too
chilly, just bring everything back in the house, take off the hat, and sit
in a comfortable chair listening to your choice of music. Don't worry
about the Internet. So far, at least, it takes care of itself most of the
time.

>Nobody's doing nothing, OK poor grammar.

Not poor grammar at all, but incorrect. I, at least, am doing nothing with
great success.
