Yes Ian, we are quite lethargic with all this heat. Seattle just set a
record of 50 days in a row with high temperatures above 70F (21C).
When I lived in Tucson, I recall a record for days over 100F (38C) and
people made less notice of it.
We probably are close to a record for days without rain, but the annual
total is about normal. It has been pretty dry and there have been a
number of forest fires around the state (and a really bad one is still
burning to the north in British Columbia). At least my well is still
pumping quite nicely.
