That is a very valid point, plain white is quite bad for some people. A very
pale yellow seems to be the best compromise.

Believe me it gets argued endlessly on Web Dev forums. I've had mail from
people complaining about plain white, problem is you can't please everyone.
When you try to cover everyone you find yourself going nuts. Try making sites
compliant with Netscape 4.XX is just one example.
