Ah, I knew there was a commonality between us. Mass used to be nice here until
recent years and the 'religious right' took control. Worldwide phenomenon I
think.

In the end... Our Bishops were summoned to Rome... They were told...

Nothing like trying to turn the clock back 200 years...

Fancy trying to tell Australians the Parish Priest knows best, toe the line or
go to hell, follow dogma...

Another 'shot in the arm' for those trying to practice christianity. i.e. doing
good work, fervently believing in and fighting for social justice for all.

I don't talk to the new Bishop of my old Diocese. The previous fellow fell on
his sword, now lives not far from here and one of the finest men I have ever had
the privilege to meet, a continuing example of decency and compassion to all.

Oh well...
