Chris
I quick tour of the Concordance in my Bible does indicate that Jesus referre=
d=20
to himself as the Son of Man. In Matthew 16:13-18, a passage which is used t=
o=20
claim that Peter was the first Pope, Jesus asks "Who do people say the Son o=
f=20
Man is?". In verse 15 Jesus asks the disciples "Who do you say that I am?"=20
Peter responds with "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." to whic=
h=20
Jesus replies "...this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in=20
heaven."
The other reference I found was the often quoted passage of John 3:16. This=20
is the testimony of John, not of Jesus, and says "For God so loved the world=
=20
that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not=20
perish but have eternal life." I like to include the next verse which is not=
=20
often quoted. "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the=20
world, but to save the world through him." John also testifies near the end=20
of his Gospel in 21:30 "Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presenc=
e=20
of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written=
=20
that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that=20
believing you may have life in his name."
TKS for your reply and I hope we can do a 2XQRP QSO sometime.
