I've actually used vi (or one of its clones) quite a bit, but I find it
very counter-intuitave and keep having to switch to another console to
look at the documentation (or drag out my "Unix for Dummies" book).
Another editor I like is joe, wordstar-like but it also has forms which
emulate pine and emacs.
