Sadly, we have a similar stakes at work, but it's not limited to elderly
celebrities. I had HM The Queen Mother for four years on the run, which
seemed a racing certainty, but she seemed to be immortal.
When a few staff members left, we decided to re-draw a new set of names.
Needless to say Her Majesty passed on a few months later, but I would have
preferred to hold that ticket for ever, rather than hold the one that I
actually drew in the new sweep....
