Nick, K3NY, just alerted me to the fact that yesterday, not one but two rear
wheels fell off a Baltimore City MTA bus. These were the seventeenth and
eighteenth rear wheels to have fallen off MTA buses in the last nine months.
The National Transportation Board can only document one other case of a
wheel's having fallen off a city bus anywhere in the last five years or so.
Fifteen Baltimore bus riders and MTA employees have filed suit to recover
damages in connection with these events. Take the bus and take your chances.
