So, my previous post was ending with the "To drink or to drive, you have to
choose" and now, here is the next Press Release showing that at least there is
a place on Earth where you do not have to make this hard choice !

Drink and drive... we bury you for free
[30/12/2002 20:07]
MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina (AP) - Free burial. It is what is offering a
company of funeral pomps to all drivers being committed to drive his/her car
under alcoholic state during the night of the New Year's Eve.
This is not a gruesome commercial strategy but a campaign of awareness.
If I can make someone thinking, then our effort worths it, explained Chris
Burroughs, director of the funerarium and crematorium of Great Strand.
As an average, Chris Burroughs organizes each year the funeral of 11 persons
deceased in road accidents provoked by the alcohol. He explains to have taken
the idea of the gratuitous burial from a campaign against "driving when drunk",
four years ago.
Barry Miller, funeral director/mortician in Tennessee, had imagine the
operation THINK after having lost a member of his family in an accident
linked with alcohol. He asserts that 10 funerariums located in the southeast of
United States today propose this kind of contract.
Every holder of a driver's license can sign the promise to drink and drive on
31st of December but nobody does it. Noone has never signed, and this is not
our goal, explained Barry Miller.
Sometimes you have to use extreme methods to make people become aware of the
stakes.

Well, let's see ... I have a driving license but have never used it (no car)
and I am a fervent OJ drinker ...
Oh boys, I am lost ... no chance for me, I will have to pay for it.
