No, no, no!
The googly is when a leg-spinner (who habitually bowls balls that break away
from the batsmen thus hoping for a thin-edge and a catch) delivers the ball
from the back of the hand thus spinning it in the opposite direction and
causing it to break toward the batsman (inviting an LBW or hopefully to bowl
him by going through the gate).
Alternatively you have the off-break (which goes the same way as the googly)
but is bowled conventionally. Muralitharan is widely regarded as being the
best exponent of this style.
Of course, with a left-handed batsman, all the terms reverse since leg
becomes off and off becomes leg. If you also throw in a left arm spinner
then things start to become complicated.
