[SOC] I think I messed myself...

I was walking through my yard a few minutes ago looking for Mushrooms (no,
not that kind, the kind you eat legally) when all of a sudden this HUGE
snake goes flying up in the air at me, and then curls up in a ball and
starts shaking his tail.

So I see the defensive posture and the shaking tail and (right after I mess
myself :^)) think, "Oh great, a timber rattler". Just what I need!

So I call the guy at the local DNR office and give him a description
(yellowish-brown, brown rectangular areas on it's back, biiiiiig, about 2
1/2" in diameter and about 4 foot long) and ask him what it is. He doesn't
know, so he has to go across the street to get a snake book. Calls me back
about 15 minutes later and says from the description it appeared to be a
Bull Snake, and not a Timber Rattler. He also said Timber Rattlers were
rare around here anyway.

What's the point of me telling all this? Isn't one really... just killing
time while my pants dry ;^)
