[SMCARA] Meeting & Winter Field Day Wrapup

Good Afternoon SMCARA! Well the club had a busy week with two events, the Jan meeting on Thursday and Winter Field Day yesterday, both at the PAX River NAS Museum. At the meeting on the Thursday, we had a good turnout with a presentation from the MD/DC Section Emergency Coordinator, Jim Montgomery, WB3KAS. Jim and Wanda drove down to our neck of the woods to talk about ARES in the county and their efforts to get the local hospital up and running with ARES and Winlink. We also had a brief but productive planning session for 2020 with some good ideas for presentations this year. 
Then yesterday, we held Winter Field Day at the museum from 1100 - 1700. We had a good group of members there operating two radios for the event. We didn't make a ton of contacts but had a good time and some great conversation amongst  ourselves. I'll be sending the log/report in over the next week. 
A great start to 2020 for the club and I look forward to another productive and fun year!
