Hi Folks,
Hope to see you at the meeting tonight at the PRNAM.
Since I have your attention, here is a good deal! The bed of my pickup (Silver Toy Tacoma) is full of "stuff", and you are invited to take whatever strikes your fancy. All free, gratis, but if you feel so moved a small donation to the club would be nice.
Among other things:
-Apple IMac computer+keyboard mouse, etc. works
-Dell computer with XP, mouse keyboard and flat screen monitor. works
-Some transformers including a HiFi output transformer (Push Pull 6L6s or EL34s/6550/KT66 to 4-8 ohm speaker), the power tranny for the output xfmr, a hefty plate transformer from an old tube type GE base station, good for 750 VDC @ 250 mils.
-The remnants of the original solid state K3HKI repeater*. This is historical stuff, folks! Pete and I put this together from Ramsey Electronics VHF and UHF components (A 146.64 Tx 20 Watts out, a 420.075 link Tx 5 watts, A Ramsey UHF receiver, and a couple of old GE receiver strips,
nothing small here as these babies are about the size of 2 one quart milk cartons end to end! Various power supplies and control circuitry assembled on 19 inch rack panels.
- Some random speakers, AM/FM/CD player with speakers, a portable, battery powered TV set, etc.
* Because we wanted something more modern than the old tube type Motorola base station we had used for the original WR3ACP repeater. Yep, back in the 70's repeaters had unique call signs. Didn't last long before we reverted to the club call, K3HKI. Besides we got tired of constantly replacing tubes and retuning it as the temperature changed! Fun times! Pete and I spent many evenings at the old W3PQT Quonset Hut (the repeater antenna was on a 100 foot cedar pole, which is long gone) behind the Post Office on base, "peaking and tweaking"! Good thing our wives are very understanding!
So, grab what you want, cuz the remaining treasures will go to electronic scrap on base. I will also bring the stuff to breakfast on Saturday.
What a chance to stock up your junk box with all sorts of switches, relays, pots, etc. Have at it!
