Hi All,
The ARRL's International DX contest (SSB) is this weekend. I'm going to
stand the first watch for the North Atlantic Amateur Radio Club (VO1NAR) on
Friday evening from 7 PM until 10 PM local time (NAR is right down the
street from CYYT). If anyone would like to drop by and do the logging
during those three hours, I would welcome your support and assistance. I'm
throwing this out because it represents a chance to try a different kind of
ham radio fun. I am not a contest operator, so don't come expecting to see
a demo of great operating prowess! And ... the kludge of software that
holds the whole thing together has to work, which it usually does ... but
it has let us down on occasion). The purpose of NAARC is simply to to have
a good time. We try to create a continuing series of radio adventures.
Last week, the guys up north activated a Canadian national park and a
lighthouse (a two for one event). This week we'll try the DX contest. Let
me know if your interested. You'll have your own headphones and there are
speakers, if more than one of you want to stop by. You'll need to be at my
house by 6:30 PM. I'll have you out the door shortly after 10.
