Hello All,
I offer a TenTec Orion II. My flagship radio until the Flex 6700 came
along (22 months ago). It is loaded with filters (both 1st and 2nd IF) and
comes with the original box, the manual, the original receipt (~$4,300, if
my memory serves me correctly) You are to note that this aging receipt
will add exactly 0db to all FT8 signals. I will also include the external
(desk top) tuning control, and a matching microphone. The radio is pretty
much like new. The only known problem is that the RIT control is
occasionally intermittent (it has had that nit since new). I am asking
$1,400. If you find that wildly optimistic or patently offensive, feel
free to suggest another price ... but come look at the radio first. I'm
selling locally because you may indeed bring it back (no worse for the
wear) and I will cheerfully refund your money ... preferably prior to your
having completed WAS and DXCC ... how about a three week trial. You must
supply a well regulated 13.8 20A volt supply.

We might argue too, over a digital interface cable that is compatible with
some RigExpert interfaces (the TI5 for sure). I would just throw that in,
but I still own an Orion I.

And ... if the Orion I sounds interesting to you ... that one was used as
a VHF IF radio only. It needs to go across the bench (I know it needs a
memory battery). I also have the "matching" DB6NT TR-144H 2 meter
transverter (pristine). It has an absolutely incredible receiver and
enough 28 MHz output to drive an SDR and the Orion I with just a coax Tee
... no matching of any kind. The result was a super quiet 2 meter receive
capability with incredible sensitivity ... $700 for the transverter. It
is much quieter than a "shack in a box" that has, by necessity, a solid
state TR switch sitting right at the front end. I'll make the buyer of the
DB6NT transverter a heck of a deal on the SDR-IQ too! I used that system
to dig out 2 meter beacons and it was astounding. I know what somebody's
thinking ... I don't want to sell the SDR-IQ stand alone ... it's just too
useful.

If the term "shack-in-a-box" is offensive ... I apologize. One of my
favorite radios is my old TS-2000 ... There are compromises re noise figure
in those things ... it can't be avoided.

Will I demonstrate these radios? Absolutely! Set aside an hour or two and
we'll set them up on the bench. I'm going out of town next week, so it may
take a few days to get to it.

I think it needs to be said that I really dislike selling stuff ... that's
why I have so much gear sitting around ... If you want to see my high
school buddy's novice receiver (1960) ... it's upstairs somewhere. And ...
if your looking for something I haven't mentioned, drop me a line and let
me know what it is.
