Dan, before you do that reset of your rig, I just went through the same thing .
Win10 did an update and I lost ft8 also. I fixed it by installing 1.9ver wsjtx ( which is a good time to do it), and reinstall your icom usb driver.
After that, plug all your info back in and set up the com control as before.

Folks:Have been enjoying 6 m. FT-8 on the 7300 for a week or so now,  but suddenly rig cannot transmit- getting a “Comm bus error while getting current frequency”  and the freq readout on the FT-8 window is oo.ooo or whatever.Am still able to decode OK, tried other bands and they also give the error and 00.000 readout. Any ideas on how to correct the problem – I’m thinking perhaps a full RESET back to factory defaults - but I’ve read ICOM warnings that it may result in having to send the radio back to them. Will appreciate any insight.Dan KD3CQ
