The first one is that you have the ability to access the mode of VW in 
addition to DN and FM. Simply good into the menu system (by pushing and hold 
the 'F' button) and turn to menu item # 16 DIG VW. Hit the menu button again 
to select ON or OFF. This will then allow you to choose DN, VW, or FM by 
pushing the 'MODE' button on the keypad. If you do not want to have this 
enabled no worries because you will still be able to communicate in VW when 
someone calls you in VW.

The other feature, which is a great feature, is the automatic preferred mode 
of operation when programming a memory channel. First in the VFO mode setup 
your frequency, tones, etc. but NOW make sure you select the preferred mode 
of operation. Because when you program this into the memory it will store 
that setting...YES store the mode of voice operation in that memory 
position. NOTE: It is not locked into the mode but anytime you change to 
that memory channel it will default back to the programmed mode
