Folks:
Have a SB-220 PARTS UNIT available; individual parts are now removed,
including:
HV transformer, bias/filament transformer (now rewound -see below), T/R
relay (have 2), fan (have 2), capacitor bank, bifilar choke, HV plate
circuity, input coils and band-switch group, both circuit breakers,
grid/Plate volt/etc. meter, tube sockets, front panel, case, etc.

Also have two original Heath SB-220 manuals, both VERY CLEAN; one has pen
checks on each construction step, otherwise nice white pages and fairly
clean covers - $25 ($5 less than copies sell for).
Other one has NO marks (would make an excellent copy master), cover has
some wear and a penned phone #, spline has wear and ~ 1/3 of the pages are
loose - $30.
Also have mod information and several of the Measures/Harbach/QST mods (soft
start, replacement capacitor bank, replacement fan, meter protection, etc.)
at quite reasonable (less than 1/2 current prices), so please ask.

Please contact me with needs or questions - I plan to attend our Jan.
meeting this Thur.; anything remaining will go to Richmond Frostfest in Feb.

Also have a new, still shrink-wrapped MATCHED pair of 3-500ZG (graphite)
mfg. by RF Parts for $300.
HRO price is $410.
Also have several pairs of used 3-500s;
a. EIMAC, output 800 - 700 w (80 - 10m); 3-500Zs $225, offer.
b. 3-500Cs - output 750 - 600w (80 - 10m); Chinese mfg.
c. 3-500Cs - output 650 - 500 w (80 - 10 m); Chinese mfg.
HRO price for 3-500/C is $169; have never had problems w/ the Chinese tubes
after 2+ decades of SB-220 use.

Situation is that I, after a hamfest assurance that it worked OK and
purchase, got it home & discovered it didn't.
Negative discoveries:
1. Upon power up, it had no bias -
(one of the few times I've been lied to with a hamfest purchase, some 50+
years of them).
2. Upon opening up it up, found it had apparently been modified for CB use
since the 80-40-20 coil was removed & the 15 - 10m coil had 1/2 the windings
removed.
3. Plate current meter was open.
4. Had a mis-matched pair of 4-400s (vice the 3-500s) - one EIMAC and one
GE.

I had 2 SB-220s already so I sent the filament/bias xfmr away to be rewound
- wasn't expensive & having a spare might be wise; ,began to investigate
conversion to a 6m amp.
Since then, I sold both SB-220s and could never find the TUNE & LOAD
capacitors for the 6 m. mod. for this amp.

Positive discoveries:
Hv good, tubes light, Grid/Plate Volt/Rel. Pwr Meter is good, fan works,
Send/Receive transfer relay contacts look good, etc.
Has many of the Measure/Harbach mods installed, i.e.,:
1. new fan and new 450v capacitors w/ the heat reducing metal film
resistors.
2. new plate resistor suppressors (protects against the ~110 MHz glitch that
destroys much).
