All,
If you have a moment, read this short email chain from the bottom up. I was reading a 53 year old QST the other night and successfully located the author … and possibly none too soon … he’s 96 years old!
This is a great hobby … with some very rich history. When someone is cleaning out his or her basement and offers you a pile of old CQ, 73 or QST magazines .. take them … and enjoy!

Hi Jack,
Last night I picked up the February 1963 QST as bedtime reading. That is the month that I checked in to the U. S. Navy’s Airborne Early Warning Squadron Eleven at Argentia Newfoundland (2/20/63), I was 19. In reading some of the letters to the editor, I noted that “The Templeton Case” had elicited quite a range of responses (I read them all). That done, I dug around for the January issue. That was a great story! I thought you might be interested to know that someone was still enjoying it in 2016!
It’s interesting too that Gaussian Abstraction software makes that whole concept rather simple to implement these days! Yea … I know … everybody has to take a shot at that. Maybe Joe Taylor (K1JT) had something to do with it.
