I also have both. A couple of things I have found that help me.
Read the "Easy Editing in the Grid" section in the Help menu. That has
saved me thousands of clicks when changing a bunch of cells like adding
different entries into a bank or skipping a bunch of frequencies from a
scan list.
In the "DR Memories" I move the repeaters from Maryland to the top of the
list followed by Virginia. That way when you select the repeater list on
the radio they are at the top and I don't have to scroll through the rest.
Of course you could remove any that you don't need. Like I got rid of
everything from Africa, Asia, Canada, etc. I also pared down many
repeaters from the different states. Also renamed N3PX to be in Hollywood
rather than LP City along with the lat/long provided by Tom.
I also downloaded the repeater list from dstarinfo.com and it had all the
Maryland stations. There is a link there to download a repeater list file
specifically for "ID-31, ID-51, ID-7100, ID-5100, and ID-51+ list of
repeaters used by the *Near Repeater* function."
I have old eyes so some of the info on the radio display get pretty hard to
read. I do program many of the 2M and 70cm simplex into the radio. I cut
and paste the frequency into the "Name" column and then instead of the
little font size I get the larger one I can see. This works on radios like
the 880 and 2820 also.
I'm hooked on RT Systems software but have no involvement with them other
than using their products. One other thing about RT Systems; their cables
work out of the box period. No hunting for drivers or other Windoze crap.
