[SMCARA] July's Club Meeting

No I don't think so. 

Those who are running for office know or have an idea what direction
they plan to take the club if they were to be elected. During the
nomination process they might only have time to announce the
highlights. 

When elected they would then have the opportunity to reveal their entire
plan of what they would like to accomplish during their time as
President. Granted plans are subject to change based on conditions but
being time is short (unless terms change) it would be good to hit the
ground running and to have a plan thought out.

Our planning meetings usually covered 6 months at a time and being the
first major task for the new leadership will be the tailgate fest
October 24th and to plan out speakers for August, September and
October's meetings and the Christmas Party it is a lot to get settled
quickly.

If I am being honest, I thought of the club elections as if they were
Presidential elections in that I put together a ticket meaning I asked
Rob, Ken and Stacey if they would fill their positions with me as
President as I knew who they were and I had a glimpse of their work
ethic and willingness to serve. Being we were only guaranteed one year I
wanted to work with an effective team. Granted we did not have any
opposition but it worked.

Being that self-nominations are allowed I think that is known as well.
