[SMCARA] Audit Committee

It has been suggested by a few that because this has not be done in at
least 4 years that it may take more time than the 9 or days until the
July meeting. I am beginning to agree especially as Tom (W4OKW) if I am
not mistaken is out of town and he is the foremost authority as to where
all of the SMCARA property resides and what is there. 

It has also been suggested that this should be the first order of
business of the incoming leadership as if they don't have enough to
worry about with the tailgate fest being the first major event on their
watch. However to do it properly and to set a baseline I do not want to
rush the process. So here is what I propose, The Audit Committee as it
currently stands will start collecting all the data it can starting now.
We will go ahead and hold the elections while they work and they would
report at the first meeting under the new leadership which would be
August 27th 2015. This would give the committee 5 weeks to perform the
audit and generate their report and offer suggestions. I believe the
proper way to do this is to call a special meeting to take a vote as
this is official business. As read in the By-Laws:

Section 4
Meetings:

1. Regular meetings shall be held on the fourth Thursday of each month
except June, November and December.
2. Field Day exercises will be held on the last full weekend of June.
3. Special Meetings may be called by the president at any time, or upon
written request to the president of any five members of the Association.
Notice of Special Meetings shall be announced on the Association Web
Site and on the scheduled nets at least seventy-two (72) hours in
advance. The announcement will include meeting date, time, place, and
purpose of the meeting.

Saturday at the J.F. Taylor Conference Center starting at 10am - 12pm
Tom (ND3N) is presenting a seminar on Logging Software and DX Spotting. 

I hereby request a special meeting to follow Tom's seminar. 

Meeting Details:
July 18th 12pm at the J.F. Taylor Conference Center next door to the Pax
Museum. The purpose of the meeting to to take a vote on extending the
deadline for audit committee's report to the club.

Stacey has informed me that we have 105 members and we need 20% and 2
club officers.  So to take the vote I need at least 21 paid members and
another club officer in attendance.
