[SMCARA] Mic switch

Tom,

Thanks for the kick in the head man, you got my last two brain cells
close enough together to have a thought! As soon as I read your comment
about the accy plug I knew my radio didn't have a 13 pin one. But what
was it then? Hmm... I hadn't looked at the back of my rig in months. So
I tore my station apart so I could get to the back of the radio and,
ta-daa, an 8 pin accy port. So I scrounged for the manual (have to keep
better track of that thing...) and it sort of seems to indicate that it
can transmit. It's a little sketchy on the details but we'll give it a
try. I'm going to order the SignaLink and give it a whirl, if it doesn't
work I'll just be back to square one.

The MFJ-1263 is the switch I was looking at but didn't want to spend so
much, especially since I don't need a lot of what it offers. I did hear
from one club member who offered to help me out with building my own so
I may take him up on that if the accy port doesn't work out.

Thanks for the input!
