[SMCARA] Upcoming Amateur Radio Classes

Good Morning,



I have received confirmation that we have received permission to utilize
the J.F. Taylor conference center for our upcoming Amateur Radio
licensing classes. The schedule is as follows:

Feb 14th : 9am – 12pm
Feb 21st:  9am – 12pm
Feb 28th:  9am – 12pm
Mar 7th:   9am – 12pm
Mar 14th:  9am – 12pm (Exam Session for Technicians)
Mar 21st:  9am – 12pm
Mar 28th:  9am – 12pm (Exam Session for Generals and Extras)

There are three changes to our plans this time around. 

First, We will be unable to offer the free radios to those who pass
their exams unless the club picks up the tab. We can discuss during
January's meeting. We are also working on coming up with alternate
incentives to attract students to the classes.

Second, We are looking to assign an experienced operator (1 or more
years experience) as an Elmer for the new Technicians that have passed
their exams. So volunteers are needed. If you are willing to act as an
Elmer please let me know ASAP so I can maintain the list of possible
Elmer(s).

Third, We are limiting all classes to 10 students each.

If you are interested and have not already discussed your interest with
myself or anyone on the Executive Committee please let us know ASAP as
room is limited and it is first come first serve.

If you are willing to help as an Instructor and have not already
contacted me please let me know as we have a need for more
instructors.
