Thanks all that showed.
Wonderful contacts in the morning.
Dan and Allen- Great teaching the scouts. I heard back from several
scoutmasters. At least one or two of the boys now have the bug.
David-
I will get you a link soon on where to post the pictures too.

To Jim and Tom-
Thanks for your help this evening.
To President Dan-
Do you have the club banner?
If so, could you bring it tomorrow, and we attach it to the shelter.
David- Where we are, there should be plenty of room for your camper and
digital demo. We should be easy to find.
To all, we will gather around 8am to finish setting up. If you follow the
direction, there is a big field towards the end of the drive where most of
the Camporee competitions will be run. Tom and I decided to set up in the
field (rather than on the hill) so that the boys will see us, and maybe
actually stop by.
So we are right in the circuit that they will do, but technically not a part
of it.
I will bring:
COFFEE
Bagels
Water jug for water during the day.
My newly refurbished and renovated set of Paddles, field tested at
the National Jamboree!
What I need you to bring:
Cup (for coffee and water)
Chair (to sit in)
HTs (Just in case we have so many boys, that we need alternate
methods to get them on the air)
Maybe consider bringing a messkit if you want to eat with the
troops.
Wear your uniform if you are a scout.
The word has been getting out among the troops and the boys are expecting
us.
The big thing we will have to work on is to teach them the difference
between broadcasting and transmitting. And we get to transmit!
See you all tomorrow!

Gonna lay down my sword and shield, down by the river side. Ain't gonna

You have designed a system, Kind of, not to work, as I understand it.

To all who have volunteered:
JOTA is next weekend.
Just to clarify:
Date:
Set up: Friday October 18th, 3pm?
Operate: Saturday, October 19th, sunrise to sunset.
Place: Long Farm, Mechanicsville, MD
Long Farm 25775 Long Lane Hollywood MD, 20636
Going south on MD-235/Three Notch Road, 9.3 miles south of Mechanicsville,
make a U-turn. Take the 1st right onto Long Lane/Lora Lane. Destination will
be on the left.
Coming from the south, Long Lane/Lora Lane is 2.5 miles north of Hollywood
on Three Notch Road.
I told the organizers that we would not offer Merit Badge sessions
(generally takes 4-5 hours, and that's the speed session).
But we would sign partials for the following requirements:

Our troop, 2819, participated in the Jamboree. Our SM and I, the ASM,
visited the HAM tent and appreciate the HAM edu opportunity to include the
provision for Radio MB.
Our troop did not participate in HAM 'this time' however, the rep we spoke
with was engaging and informative.
There was some limited interest by some of our scouts, but I suspect that
they do not understand the great opportunities that HAM represents!
I need to do a show-and-tell follow-up at an upcoming weekly troop mtg to
spur some interest, perhaps even with a club member with HF assets for some
DX edu exposure as well.
Pete's upcoming D-Star may talk be a good opportunity to bring a few out for
expanded HAM capabilities.
Thanks again for the exposure and opportunity for learning!
