Not a smart phone app, but I strongly recommend the DX Lab Suite.
DXLab is a freeware suite of eight interoperating applications that can be
installed independently in any order. When multiple applications are
running, they sense each other's presence and automatically interoperate to
support your Amateur Radio DXing activities. One of the cool things is in
the "Spot Collector" has audible alerts, so you can be working on a project
in your shack and hear the DX announcements. It also has an integrated log
and CAT control (each separate programs).
Start by downloading the "Launcher", all the other programs are downloaded
using it.
Download here (follow the instructions and look for "click here").

Thanks Gil,
I am sure there is someone who did not know about this. I have always just
used the one integrated with Ham Radio Deluxe. Good find!

Amateur Radio has something for everyone. Even if it is just peace of mind
that no matter what happens your message will get through.
