[SMCARA] Any buddipole users?

I have a MALDO HVU-8. It a Christmas Tree that is about 7 feet tall.
Easy to assemble, light weight, good for go-kits.

Upside: Multi-band. 70cm to 80m
Downside: On the HF frequencies, it is very frequency specific. Get off
your tuned frequency and the SWR goes through the roof. An autotuner, like
the one LDG makes mitigates this somewhat and widens the frequency band.

W4OKW's son has a similar more up to date antenna. Not a MALDOL, but
similar. Frequency band is a little wider.

As a number of people have already said, a simple dipole is always good.

Subject: [SMCARA] Any buddipole users?

I am looking into a portable antenna to use with my FT-817ND. The Buddipole
seems to have good reviews. Anyone on the list has any experience with one?
Other recommendation for a similar setup?

Looking for any feedback on the antenna system or limitations encountered.
My goal is to have a light/portable and flexible system for emergency use.

Carlos
