Wow and I was nice and comfy in my Audi riding home from South Carolina!

Congrats on the run.

Was Preparation H a sponsor?

Subject: [SMCARA] 1,000 miles, 21 hours

Hi All,

I safely completed my Ironbutt Saddle Sore 1000 ride yesterday. The minimum distance is 1000 and I ended up with 1049. The maximum elapsed time (not just riding time) was 20 hours and 24 minutes. The ride started at 4:19 AM and completed at 12:43 AM.

Now I need to submit the paperwork and I’ll get a certificate designating me as one of the World’s Toughest Riders.

When I got home last night (actually early this morning) I swore that I would never do this again. Now that I’ve had a bit of sleep and a chance to relax and reflect on the ride, I think I’ll be doing another in the Fall. Maybe step it up and combine a 1000/24 ride with a 1500 mile ride in 36 hours. Any bets on getting Tammy to ride with me on that one???

Thanks to all who kept me in their thoughts and prayers as I negotiated the freeway with speeding truckers, partying teens, and drunk drivers.
