[SMCARA] Invite to Join PVRC

Hi All,

As some of you know, I occasionally dabble in contesting and am a member of the Potomac Valley Radio Club.  

There are many contest clubs in the US and many more worldwide.  PVRC is recognized as one of the mega-clubs, always placing high in the rankings and often winning.  Even though we have a lot of members, we can always use more – this is where you come in.

If you are interested in contesting, even casually, I’d like to extend an invitation to you to join the PVRC.

There are no dues.  The only requirements for membership is a desire to join and attendance at two meetings.  Your first opportunity to attend a meeting is on October 2nd.  For more info, check out www.pvrc.org  

We will meet at St. Mary's Landing Restaurant, located at 29935 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. 20622 – (301)274-4710
Talk-in on 145.350 (-) PL 156.7 - The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM.

Also, if you’ve wanted to operate from a really nice station – Wayne Roger’s is looking for people to help out with a Multi-op effort for the CQWW DX (SSB) contest (October 27-28).  Wayne has a tall tower, a large beam, and a big amplifier – all he needs are operators.  To help you be more comfortable with operating his station, Wayne will be having a get-together prior to the contest to show how to make his equipment play nicely together and make lots of contacts.  This will count as your second meeting.
