With a SFI of 126, a sunspot number of 36, and a planetary A index (the Geomag Field is Inactive with noise levels of S0 to S1) of 4, 10 meters is really hopping right now – as are 12 and 15 – 10 is wide open to Europe with a lot of stations in the Tech SSB band calling CQ. If it keeps up like this, expect South American/Carribean contacts shortly after noon and possible openings to Asia & Australia just before sunset.
There have also been some sporatic E openings reported on 6 meters...
The good news – these conditions will probably last for a week to 10 days before the suns 28 day rotation moves its spots to the other side – this will make for great conditions for next weekends CQ WW DX Rtty contest and next months CQWW DX SSB contest... It is possible to work DX CC with either of these contests and with 2 of the on the horizon its even easier.
