Great! I would be glad to help. I am sure Eric can be flexible on test
dates.
We have two radios available as loaners from the club. An ICOM 725
donated by LDG Electronics and a Kenwood TS-520S(originally was Gordon,
KA3COO (SK)'s rig) donated by Grant, KE4RTJ. We can push the "Elmer"
idea and help get the newbies on the air.

Subject: [SMCARA] Technician Class
Hi All...
I need your input on the logistics for the Technician Class I'll be
teaching. When replying to this e-mail - please respond to the
reflector to keep this an open discussion....
First off - help and support is always needed and appreciated.
Schedule: I'd like to do two nights a week for 3 weeks, but I'll
consider a single night for 6 weeks.
I can also do a single weekend session (Friday night, All
day Saturday, All day Sunday)
What I'm looking for is a minimum of six 3-hour sessions,
eight sessions would be better...
The class will begin Mid-April or the beginning of May.
Location - Lexington Park/Leonardtown Libraries - or the Air Museum
conference room (or a mix of the two).
Who can attend: Anyone who is interested
Cost: $25 per person (includes ARRL study guide - a $30 value)
$5 person if someone has the study guide already
For example: A couple sharing a study guide would be a total
of $30 ($25 for the first person, $5 for the second person)
The monies will go to the club and will pay for the
study-guide (I get them at a discount) and any misc. expenses (copies,
certificates, etc.).
My plan is to pre-order 20 study guides. This should be enough to cover
the expected class size - any left-over study guides could be used for
future classes.
Let me know what you think - I'd like to have this all firmed up and
ready to go by next Wednesday... (meeting rooms scheduled, books
ordered, class published on the ARRL web-site...)
Regards,
Tom Shelton
