Hi Steve...
Everything is still tentative - I wanted to get this started earlier rather
than later, but my prime goal is to have the class completed, with testing
done and licenses issued, prior to field-day. If we need to work something
special out for the power squadron, that can be done easily and I'll work
with you to make that happen...

Well fxxxxx great. Just last Thursday you said May and probably Mid May. So
I put a flyer out to that effect Tom with the Power Squadron. Now I see
April. If you want help Tom, you have to have a consistent message.

Subject: [SMCARA] Technician Class
Hi All...
I need your input on the logistics for the Technician Class I’ll be
teaching. When replying to this e-mail – please respond to the reflector to
keep this an open discussion....
First off – help and support is always needed and appreciated.
Schedule: I’d like to do two nights a week for 3 weeks, but I’ll consider a
single night for 6 weeks.
I can also do a single weekend session (Friday night, All day
Saturday, All day Sunday)
What I’m looking for is a minimum of six 3-hour sessions,
eight sessions would be better...
The class will begin Mid-April or the beginning of May.
Location – Lexington Park/Leonardtown Libraries – or the Air Museum
conference room (or a mix of the two).
Who can attend: Anyone who is interested
Cost: $25 per person (includes ARRL study guide – a $30 value)
$5 person if someone has the study guide already
For example: A couple sharing a study guide would be a total of
$30 ($25 for the first person, $5 for the second person)
The monies will go to the club and will pay for the study-guide
(I get them at a discount) and any misc. expenses (copies, certificates,
etc.).
My plan is to pre-order 20 study guides. This should be enough to cover the
expected class size – any left-over study guides could be used for future
classes.
Let me know what you think – I’d like to have this all firmed up and ready
to go by next Wednesday... (meeting rooms scheduled, books ordered, class
published on the ARRL web-site...)
Regards,
Tom Shelton
