Hello All,

Just got back from Albuquerque this past Wednesday and no I did not get a
chance to put the FT-897 to use. Somebody out there ordered a freak snow
storm that dropped several feet of snow on the path I was going to take to
get to Sandia Crest. So the Radio and Buddipole stayed in the bags.

However last night as I was setting everything back up I made a contact
with RW3LG / MM (Maritime Mobile) on 20m. He is a radio operator on a what
looks to be an Oil Tanker (based on his QRZ page) and based on his Lat/Long
somewhere in the Indian Ocean. I'm thinking this is one of my cooler
contacts. He has been on over the last couple of nights based on his
conversations with other operators. I got him on 14193.00.
