Amateur (HAM) radio Technician's License Training
The St. Mary's County Department of Public Safety and the St. Mary's County
Amateur Radio Association will co-sponsor a series of classes to teach the
necessary skills and knowledge required to obtain an Amateur (HAM) Radio
Technician's License. Seven classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from
6:30 until 8:00 PM beginning March 23rd and will conclude with an FCC
approved examination during the last session on May 4th. The first class
will be held at the Lexington Park Library. The classes are open to all with
no age restrictions, however children 13 and under must be accompanied by an
adult. There are not any associated costs for training but a nominal fee if
you elect to take the FCC examination. For more information, contact the St.
