Hi Everyone,
As of today, the St. Mary's County Emergency net will be held every Tuesday
at 1930 on 146.775. After the 146.640 machine is up to speed net operations
will return to the SMCARA repeater.
I would like to welcome all amateur radio operators in the County to take a
minute to check-in to the net. The net is used to determine what resources
(you and your gear) are available, equipment checks (at the EOC), area
coverage and training in emergency communications.
Check-in procedures are simple, Net control will ask for check-ins, you
respond with your call sign. Later, net control will voice your call sign.
You respond with your name, mode of operation (Base, Mobile or Portable.),
location and if you have emergency power available. You do not need to be
on emergency power, but if you want to test your system this would be a
great time to do it.
I will be calling the NET from the ARES/RACES Radio Station in Leonardtown.
On the second Tuesday each month I have a RACES net at the same time as this
net. On that Tuesday an Alternate Net Control will manage the net.
I look forward to hearing from you tonight and every Tuesday.
Sincerely,
Ray kb3fww
