This is the final reminder about the Marathon communications support
event this Sunday. Thank you for everyone that has volunteered to
step forward and help out again this year. Anyone else that would
like to help out is welcome, please let me know or just show up on
Sunday. The more people, the better!
There is a volunteer meeting at the Paul Hall Center Auditorium at 4PM
on Saturday. It is not required that you attend, but feel free to do
so. As I mentioned before, I will be on my way home from Salisbury in
the afternoon and I am not sure if I will be able to make it or not.
The Charles County Red Cross Chapter will be helping out again this
year. Mike Zabko has suggested that we do some interoperability
testing and some emergency communications exercises during the day
which I think is a great idea.
* DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME starts at 2am on the morning of the event.
Don't forget to set your clocks forward!!
* We are planning to arrive and start setting up at start/finish about
6AM. The first wave of runners depart at 7AM and all runners will be
on the course by 8AM.
* If you have a dual band or UHF HT, please bring it as we plan to use
cross band repeaters to help everyone with HT's get a solid connection
into the main repeater.
* Don't forget to bring water, snacks and anything else you might need
to get you through the day. Please also bring a jacket and/or
umbrella as it looks like there might be some rain in the forecast.
If you have any last minute questions, please feel free to call me at
240-538-5521.
Thanks!
