[SMCARA] 2006 Field Day Rules

2006 Field Day rules are available to those who ask. I will be happy to
forward a copy to you.  

As always, I doubt that we will be able to compete against clubs such as
Pikes Peak or Mount Washington. But our competition is to have fun.  

The are a number of things that we can do to earn bonus points though: 

*	Emergency Power.  We generally use an emergency generator so this
shouldn't be a problem.
*	Media publicity.  A short "come join us" blurb in the Tester or
Enterprise will get us the points.
*	Public location. Our traditional spot at the HVFD fulfills this
requirement.
*	Public information table.  In the past, I put up a "who are we"
post. 
*	Message origination to section manager.
*	NTS MSG handling. 10 points for each message, up to 100 points
max... You go Bro. Ren!
*	Satellite QSO... you go AJ!
*	W1AW Bulletin.  Normally, I have taken my hand held recorder and
transcribed the message aftwards.
*	Non-traditional mode demonstration.  W4OKW will probably leave his
'breadcrumbs' as he travels down to the gulf states. If somebody could get
an SSTV QSO, that would be great!
*	Site visitation by an official? Could we get an elected county
official to come say hello?  We need to offer some PAC money (Just kidding)?
*	Site visitation by a representative of an Agency.  don't we have a
Red Cross member?
*	Web submission.  Easy to do.
*	Field day youth participation.  Arthur is a little young yet, but if
you have a child under the age of 18, we will get 20 points if the child
gets at least one QSO. up to 100 points (5 children).  

 

1200+ points, plus the power multiplier, plus the emergency power bonus.
