The US National Weather Service (NWS) Headquarters will perform urgent maintenance on electrical systems supporting the Emergency Managers Weather Information Network (EMWIN) services commencing 0900 UTC, April 7, 2018. Expected EMWIN service impacts: A. FTP server – loss of service. B. ByteBlaster servers - negligible impact. C. GOES 14 or 15 EMWIN satellite broadcast – no impact. D. GOES-16 HRIT-EMWIN satellite broadcast - no impact. Date/Time of Initial Impact: April 7, 2018 0900 UTC Date/Time of Expected End: April 9, 2018 1300 UTC The EMWIN service disruption can be expected to last as long as 52 hours. Full service may be restored sooner. Should users experience any additional service issues or problems, please notify the NWS EMWIN Support at: nws.emwin.support at noaa.gov A ‘Critical Weather Day’ will not postpone this maintenance activity.
