Space Weather Users Workshop: National Security and Prosperity
Severe space weather has the potential to affect our lives in many ways
because of our ever increasing reliance on technology. Space Weather
Services <http://www.sws.bom.gov.au/>, Australian Bureau of Meteorology
<http://www.bom.gov.au/> is holding a Space Weather Users Workshop
<http://swworkshop.sws.bom.gov.au/>in November 2017. This workshop will
focus on the impact and mitigation of space weather effects in the areas of
aviation, defence, energy, navigation, timing and communication. The
workshop will provide an opportunity to hear from expert speakers, owners
and operators of susceptible technology, and other users of space weather
services.
When: 16-17 November 2017
Where: School of Physics, Physics Road, University of Sydney, Camperdown
campus, Sydney, Australia
Cost: AUD 100 (lunch and refreshments included)

The Space Weather Users Workshop follows on from the 17th Australian Space
Research Conference (ASRC) held at the same location, and is held jointly
with Sydney SpaceNet. The ASRC is a science forum, whereas the Space
Weather Users Workshop is a customer forum.
