The US National Weather Service (NWS) Emergency Managers Weather Information
Network (EMWIN) will be adversely impacted by local network maintenance
activities scheduled for Saturday, December 16, 2017, from 14:00 to 20:00
UTC. Expected impact to EMWIN by service:
(1) EMWIN Satellite Broadcast Services. The EMWIN GOES-West and the GOES-14
(105 degrees West) satellite broadcast should remain operational but may
not include International and Graphical products. EMWIN content on the
GOES-16 HRIT/EMWIN broadcast – Virtual Channel IDs 20, 21 and 22 -- should
not be impacted.
(2) EMWIN ByteBlaster Service. The number of available NWS Byte Blaster
servers may be reduced. Users connected to NWS ByteBlaster servers may
consider reconnecting to an alternate ByteBlaster server for the duration
of this maintenance period. A list of active ByteBlaster servers is
available here:
http://www.weathermessage.com/Support/ByteBlasterStatus.aspx
(3) EMWIN FTP Service. The FTP service will not be operational. In the
event a Critical Weather Day (CWD) is declared, the network maintenance
activity will be rescheduled. CDW status is available
